Laura Kellet - A graphic designer with a strong moral compass. Exploring the (depressing) experience of being a woman.
Sequential Illustration: Choose two graphic novels and conduct a close formal analysis and comparison. Focus your analysis on select examples of single pages or double page spreads and address the following points: i) the architecture of the page (structure, layout, and reader orientation); ii) dynamic between type and image (anchorage) in the conveyance of the story; and iii) panel transitions and the depiction of time and space. Key differences in approach? How effective is the deployment of the ‘comics code’ to convey the story and impact on reader engagement? Make appropriate reference to academic material (design & comic-strip theory) to support your arguments.
Research, organise, write, and present a formal academic response that addresses the key points.

Intensely Italian - INTENSELY can you get more Italian - all encompassing of Italy - the pasta is literally holding an idealised Italian town (art reminiscent of Guiliana Lazzerini) iconic cypress trees and yellow orange topped buildings with scattered windows. The pasta doubles as a cliff/roadside ledge for the small town to nest in. The bright blue background suggests a cloudless sky to the Italian landscape.

The analysis:
A quater-zip jumper from Primark. Mass produced, following recent trends of sherpa jackets. Beige and brown mountains are patterned along the edges of the sleeves and torso. Whether the intent is to signify an interest in the wilderness is up to the viewer. The scene is a gradual forests leading to peaks with birds flying in the "sky" or the white of the jacket. It can be worn multiple ways by styling the collar high or low depending on preference and temperature. It has a two big pockets on the front.
Originally a warm and fluffy item, after wearing it almost every day for 2 years it has become significantly more thin and the material has been worn away in places such as the end of the sleeves. During the winter months I layer another jumper underneath, whereas in the summer I can wear it without worrying about overheating. Versatile, though originally not meant to be. It's colour has faded from the bleach white to a subtle cream. The label states it is made in Cambodia. It also states to not tumble dry the jumper. I had not realised this and have been tumble drying it since I bought it. This probably explains the jumper getting more frayed over time.
It is oversized for myself (XL instead of a M) because I prefer baggy clothes that hide my body. It feels safe and comfy. The fabric is soft. unlike many fluffy jackets there is no inside cover that removes the softness of the material. This makes it less durable it more comfortable. Hoodies and jumpers are the uniform of my peers, so this jumper fits in with the crowd.
