Week 3: Thumbnails 

Inspiration/research for Peter Pan poster. Character design - Disney classic? Snufkin inspired? Over the garden wall aesthetic? etc.

I looked at every poster in "Alternative Movie Posters: Film Art from the Underground" (Matthew Chojnacki). The ones pictured below (including the cover) are the ones i found most eye-catching. There was also conveniently a Peter Pan example.

Started off with "Woman in black" play

Decided on Peter Pan after a dozen thumbnails

Ideas involving entering a window (Wendy's room)

Possible Tinkerbell as the main subject instead of Peter Pan

Using dip pen and ink was messy but added personality

Water colour to test colour swatches

Idea of making a "wanted" poster

Experimenting with different colours and compositions
